Belfast's Got Talent!

Yesterday we had the finals of the Belfast's Got Talent show.  It was awesome to see the students in our school displaying their talents and entertaining their peers.  We were so proud of them for taking on this challenge and admire the time and effort they put into practising and perfecting their performances.

Room 18 had several students performing in the finals.  Hunter & Ben ("The Golden Boys") did a great musical performance, with Hunter playing the guitar and Ben singing "Heart of Gold".  They came 3rd!!  Brooke was part of the dance group "Mini Divas" who performed an amazing dance routine and came 2nd!!  We are so proud of their efforts!

Food for Thought Programme

As part of the Food For Thought programme, Room 18 had a visit to New World in Belfast where the students did some investigating of food packaging to determine what foods are suitable as everyday foods or occasional foods.  They worked well in groups and have developed a good understanding of how to make healthier food choices. We were also given a New World voucher to purchase ingredients to make a healthy lunch which we will be doing on Monday.  Watch this space to see our scrumptious lunch!

Cooking with the Class

As part of our playground token system, the students at Belfast School voted for "Cooking with the Class" as their prize.

Room 18 decided to make "Smudge", which is a South African recipe recommended by Dylan in our class.  It is similar to fudge cake and was absolutely delicious!!!
